May Lifeguarding 2017

Registration closes in 8 days

Provides entry-level participants the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until EMS personnel take over. Prerequisites: • Minimum age: 15 years • Swim 300 yards continuously. • Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs. • Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds. Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. Surface dive to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object. Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point. Exit the water without using a ladder or steps.

After passing the prerequisites, the student needs to spend one day on reviewing lifeguarding and rescues and another with CPR/AED.

2017 Upcoming Swim Programs. 

  

   

April Lifeguarding Courses is a 32-hour course.  Usually split between 3-4 days.  

Days for courses:

April 8th, April 9th and April 15th

Times for the Courses

8am-8pm each day.

Lifeguarding Review will be held on April 15th from 8am-8pm.

 

May Lifeguarding Courses is a 32-hour course.  Usually split between 3-4 days.

Days for courses:

May 6th, May 7th, May 13th and May 14th

Times for the Courses

8am-6pm each day

 Lifeguarding Review will be held on May 14th from 8am-6pm.

June Lifeguarding Courses is a 32-hour course.  Usually split between 3-4 days.

Days for courses:

June 10th, June 11th, June 17th and June 18th

Times for the Courses

8am-6pm each day

 Lifeguarding Review will be held on June 18th from 8am-6pm.

 

Aqua-tots is a 6 weeks swim session. Classes will meet ONCE a week for 6 weeks. 

Start date of the program:  April 17th, 2017

End date of the program:  June 4th, 2017 

Online Registration Begins:  March 3rd, 2017 

Registration Ends: April 2nd, 2017 

Adults & Teens is a 6 weeks swim session. Classes will meet ONCE a week for 6 weeks.

BSC Swim Club is a 8 weeks swim session. Classes will meet 5x a week for 8 weeks.

Please come on the day and time you have selected. 

 

Our Youth program, for ages five through eleven, has seven levels. Please make the best estimate of your child's abilities before registering. During the first week of classes, the instructors will determine if students need to be moved up or down a level—we do our best to accommodate everyone. Classes consist of 45 minutes of instruction.

Our Teen program, for ages twelve through seventeen, has three levels—Beginner, Inter and Teen Advanced Classes consist of 45 minutes of instruction. 

Our Adult program, for ages eighteen and up, has three levels—Beginner, Inter and Advanced  Classes consist of 45 minutes of instruction.
